KC Film Fest

More chances to see TAG work at KC Film Fest, going on April 11-15. Our short documentary “Stan Herd: Man of the Land” shows in the People Like Us (Shorts Program 1) block on Wednesday, April 11th at 4:30pm and again on Saturday, April 14th at 11:15am. If you didn’t catch Patrick Rea’s Nailbiter up in Omaha – featuring production and post-production support from TAG – it opens the festival the evening of Wednesday, April 11th.

You can buy tickets and passes here. See you at the festival!

KC Film Fest screenings

“But Chris,” they said, “we want to see two projects by Through A Glass Productions for only one price!” Not a problem. Just see the “Mixed Bag” shorts screening at Kansas City Film Fest on April 9th at 10pm. You’ll get to see Malik Aziz’s slice of relationship drama “Lady in my Life” and “30 Seconds to Midnight,” directed by Jeremy Osbern in the same program without having to separate from your chair.

The screenings are at that effulgent AMC in the Power and Light District, and there’s a lot of cool stuff at the fest this year including local and international shorts and features, technical presentations, and some really good guests like Elvis Mitchell. Individual screening tickets are $10 and a full festival pass for all five days is only $60 (there are tiers in between). Tickets can be purchased and more information (including a full program) can be found at the link above. See you there!

600th Annual Harvest of the Arts this Sunday!

That’s right, Mark von Schlemmer has been putting on HotA longer than the medium of film – or even simple photography – has existed.

If you aren’t making an annual ritual of checking out local shorts at the Granada as the leaves are turning, then you are missing out. Fortunately, you can stop missing out this Sunday at 7:00pm. As always, it’s free admission. I have it on good authority (aka his press release) that the usual eclectic fare will include a short by horrormonger Patrick Rea, excerpts from a performance at the Lawrence Scottish Festival, and a short by that brilliant little company Through a Glass. All this and free popcorn means you just added plans to your weekend.
